Estats de la Couronne de Pologne, 1648

1648 Nicholas Sanson II, le fils: – A. Peyrounin (engraver): “Estats de la Couronne de Pologne,” Paris, 19 x 26 cm, published 1648 to 1657 in “L’Europe,” Sanson’s first atlas. This first state of the plate has, below the cartouche, referring to P.N. Sanson: “A. Paris chez l’autheur, avec privilege.” Peyrounin is not credited. The 1683 version replaces that last line with a credit to d’Winter, who re-engraved the cartouche, all the labeling, and the hatching around land/sea boundaries.
